Saúl Canopy Café is composed of light steel structure that supports nearly one thousand pounds of naturally dyed yarn. Surrounded by greenery, the design recalls a typical garden pergola reimagined in a way that celebrates local expertise and tradition.

The design extracts an essence that is emblematic of the textile craft tradition of the region. The yarn skeins reference to dyeing process characteristic of pre- colonial textile craft production.

The unconventional use of a local material, highlighted by the contrasting minimal furnishings, combine with the texture, plantings and natural light to create a palpable feeling of nature and connection to the history of the place. A white minimal palette for the furnishings offset the bold colors of the canopy and the tropical surrounds.
